Many children in Eastern Europe are growing up in difficult circumstances, in families affected by poverty, parental migration, conflict, alcohol abuse and domestic violence. Governments fail to provide adequate social services, with institutionalisation often the only solution. That’s why we help local churches set up after school clubs to reach these children in their communities. More than 4,600 children now attend a club, often several times per week.
Volunteers address children’s immediate needs and help them find and develop their God-given potential. YFC invests in the training and coaching of these volunteers so they can be even more effective in their ministry.
As a result, we are seeing churches flourish, young volunteers become committed agents of change, and deprived children find hope for a brighter future.
